We’ve got a special Wednesday night Champagne tasting with Kurt Zimmermann, the winemaker of Pernet & Pernet, who’s coming to the shop to pour his Champagnes with us.
Kurt and his wife Marion are the new generation behind a family domaine that dates all the way back to 1872, but what they’re doing today feels anything but old-school. They’ve converted their vineyards to organic farming and are transforming Pernet & Pernet into a true grower Champagne estate, making their own wines from beautiful parcels in Vertus, Ambonnay and beyond. They’ve even started picking grapes in the middle of the night to beat Champagne’s increasingly hot harvests.
Come drink some seriously exciting Champagne with the guy who makes it. Not a bad way to spend a Wednesday.
