Shipping policy

Shipping
Vintage Berkeley offers ground and expedited shipping throughout the United States. Orders are shipped from our stores using purpose-built and industry approved packaging and delivery services are provided by Fedex. 

Customers can designate a preferred service option during the checkout process. Service options include Ground, 2-Day and Overnight. While shipments can be scheduled for estimated delivery on a particular day, those estimates are not guarantees of delivery on that specific date. Vintage Berkeley is also unable to specify a window of time during which the delivery will be attempted. Be advised that timelines associated with expedited delivery services are only from the date of shipment.

Shipping Dates
Ground shipments are shipped Monday through Friday. 2-Day shipments are shipped Monday through Wednesday. Next Day shipments are shipped Monday through Thursday. In all instances, we encourage shipping earlier in the week to avoid weekend delivery dates and to help prevent orders from sitting in a warehouse over the weekend. Weather Delays
Please note that our team monitors national weather conditions on a daily basis. If there is extreme weather in your area we may hold your order to protect the integrity of your wine and will notify you of this decision. Once weather conditions improve, we will ship your order at the earliest possible date.

If a customer requests shipment of their order during periods of inclement weather, and against our written advisory to do so, the customer releases us from all liability. In this scenario, we will require the customer to acknowledge in writing that they are overriding our advisory against shipping due to inclement weather, and that they assume all risk for damage or non-delivery as a consequence.

Please note that Vintage Berkeley cannot guarantee the condition of any order if the wine is not received the first time the shipper attempts delivery. We strongly recommend that customers ship all orders to a business address to minimize this risk.

Estimated Shipping Timelines
Orders usually ship from our stores within 1-3 business days. Please see the following map to calculate the number of business days (Monday-Friday) it will take for your order to arrive once it has shipped. Note that this graphic is a simplistic overview of estimated transit times and does not indicate if we are able to ship to a particular state.

Reminder: Timelines associated with expedited delivery services are only from the date of shipment. Vintage Berkeley cannot guarantee delivery of your order by a specific date.

Order Tracking
Once your order has been processed and prepared for shipment, you will receive an email providing a tracking number for your reference. Please be advised that your tracking number will only be activated when your order has been picked up and scanned by the shipping service.

Local Pickup
If you live in the Bay Area and would like to pick up your wine at one of our stores, you may do so at no additional cost.  When ordering, simply select the “Local Pickup” feature and designate the store of your choice. To ensure your orders are available before you arrive, please email info@vintageberkeley.com to schedule your pickup.

Adult Signature Required
All orders shipped by Vintage Berkeley require an Adult Signature on delivery. There are no exceptions to this policy. It is highly recommended that you ship your order to a business address to ensure that someone of legal age can sign for your order when the carrier attempts delivery. This approach will also reduce the likelihood of your order being exposed to inclement weather during the delivery process. Orders with a PO Box in the Shipping Address field will be rejected as they do not conform to our Adult Signature Policy. Similarly, customer order requests such as "Please leave at front door” cannot be followed because they do not conform to this policy. In the event that we need to update your shipping information we will contact you via email with a request for additional delivery details.
