Step Aside, Pinot Noir – Nebbiolo is the true star of the Old World reds! But unlike Pinot, which has become a familiar presence across five continents, Nebbiolo has remained far more elusive.

Its home is Italy’s Piedmont, where it produces the age-worthy, celebrated wines of Barolo and Barbaresco. But farther north, on the rocky Alpine slopes of Valtellina, Nebbiolo takes on a softer, leaner character.

More recently, Nebbiolo has begun venturing beyond Italy, finding new homes everywhere from Australia and California to Mexico.
