Description
Zibibbo - lots of fun to say, serious business to drink. Few grapes are more rare, or more distinctly Sicilian than this aromatic variety, and the eco-friendly, organic property managed by the Funaro brothers, is textbook Sicily. Old vines, lovingly tended for three generations, are interplanted with olive trees, and surrounded by fruit orchards and vegetable gardens. Passo di Luna is a delicate, fresh, and lively expression of Zibibbo - Apricot, fig leaf, citrus peel, and sea salt are all at play here, and the splash of Inzolia (another indigenous variety), adds a nutty savory note and textural complexity. A perfect way to wash down the last of your summer tomatoes - with capers, good olive oil, and aged sheep's milk cheese.
