Towered over by Mont Blanc, there’s an ancient vineyard (think Romans, but hold the gladiator costumes) that even by our exacting standards has gotta be one of the most gorgeous in the world. The biodynamic farmer and master vigneron there, Brice Omont, is quickly becoming known as one of France’s most exciting makers. His Argile Rouge is an alpine blend of Gamay, Pinot Noir & Mondeuse and is as pure an expression of mountain fruit and alpine herbs as you can find: think smoky red raspberries, dark green herbs, pomegranate seeds, and rhubarb. Alive and irresistible, this here’s some real gee-whiz shizz.
