Mensch: (Yiddish) noun: A person of dignity and honor. Makes sense, then, that this is sourced from grower Larry Mettler’s vineyard in Lodi, a region famous for its old vine Zinfandel. Mettler’s family has been in the wine business since the 1770’s (not a typo!), and have been growing grapes in Lodi since 1899. This is a perfect example of old-vine Lodi Zin: fruit-forward, soft-textured, and bursting forth with jammy raspberry and spice notes.
