Description
Blind tasting tonight? You’d be forgiven for guessing this grape as Bizarro Pinot... but you’d be wrong. Indigenous to the Languedoc-Roussillon, this used to be so widely planted here in CA they called it “Napa Gamay.” Kenny Likitprakong of Folk Machine got his hands on some of this rare varietal a while back and took CA by storm. Made from 100 year old vines, this Valdiguie is highly aromatic and packed with bright berries and fresh herbs. Drink ambitiously the vibrant acidity makes this an easy feat ) until it’s gone, gone, gone -- sadly, there’s not much made!
