Envínate ("wine yourself") is the winemaking project founded in 2005 of four winemaking friends who met in Enology school at University of Miguel Hernandez in Alicante. Their mission is to craft distinctive Spanish wines that zero in on the tiny Atlantic-influenced terroirs of primarily the Canary Islands and the northeasterly Ribeira Sacra. Benje Bianco is a blend of several old-vine, own-rooted Listan Blanco that is fermented in concrete tank and open tubs. Mostly direct press with 25% receiving a short skin maceration. It sits on its lees for 8 months in concrete and barrique to develop rich, yeasty, and unctuous notes of smokey orchard fruits with zippy acidity.
