Description
We blinded this as "cru beaujolais but like it used be 10 years ago before the wines became too ripe" and we stand by it whole-heartedly. Envínate (“wine yourself”) is the brainchild of four friends who met while studying winegrowing in Alicante. Their work, both in the vineyard and winery, is focused on exploring the ancient, Atlantic-infused terruños of Ribeira Sacra, the Canary Islands, as well as tiny vineyard plots across the Iberian Peninsula. Their Albahra bottling comes from a single vineyard situated at 800m elevation. Garnacha Tintorera (aka alicante bouschet) is one of the few grape varieties in the world with dark colored juice (most color in wine comes from the skin!) yielding a wine with inky dark color, brambly fruit, spice and bright acidity.
