Preliminary research indicates that French people are as physically incapable of resisting a bad pun as we are of resisting a freakily delicious Cru Beaujolais priced like it's still 2009. Take Chateau Bonnet: could they resist making a cuvée called Chat Au Bonnet (Cat in a Hat)? No. No they could not. Could *we* resist top-level organic Cru Beaujolais made by a guy our importer friend met in music school when he was 14? No. No we could not. As with all great Cru Beaujolais, it's simultaneously "serious" and something we could chill down and bathe in. Mineral-cored (Chenas is intensely granitic) and shot through with strawberries and raspberries and autumnal delight.
