One of the most intriguing and unusual wines we've come across in some time - a white wine made from the red Xinomavro grape. Located in Macedonia, it's a wine that is a far cry from the island whites that define Greek wine - just a hint of pale salmon color lends itself to notes of white rose, salty sea air, white cherry and savory herbs. Imminently gulpable, but secretly a very serious wine that I'd reach for before any of the culty Coteaux Champenois.
