Description
Let's not say too much here, as this is as cult a Tuscan wine as it gets. The “Le Pergole Torte” vineyard, planted in 1968, is an Italian Grand Cru on par with the very best of Burgundy, and the eponymous wine has (rightly) become one of the world’s most sought-after collectibles. The 2020 is intense, complex, and expressive, with touches of spice, earth, pressed rose and lavender bud on the nose, and bright red cherries, Dutch licorice, and tons of creamy texture on the palate. A straight-up world-beater of a wine, and one of the reasons people spend their days fantasizing about the Tuscan life.
