The team at Durante first grabbed our attention with their better-than-it-has-any-right-to-be Prosecco; now they've positively hooked us with their boldly structured, perfectly bistro-tuned (trattoria-tuned?) Cab. Downright obsessive in their commitment to organic farming, Durante's aims to preserve & express the terroir of Veneto - which is probably why their Cab comes across so distinctly different from its California and French counterparts. The well-drained soils and warm climate in the Veneto allows the fruit to ripen fully, presenting lush plum, black cherry, and blackberry jam on the palate, with delicate acid lifting through the finish. Unabashedly bold & full fruited, and perfect with grilled meats.
