In Serra Di Ferro, a village curving up the southern Corsican coast, the golden hour is blue. The mountains in the distance cast a long, purplish grey shadow across the tangled underbrush of rosemary, shrubs and succulents, just as the Mediterranean comes into view. Here, Sebastien Poly works his grandfather's estate prioritizing terroir of the island, preserving traditional varietals, and minimal intervention in the cellar. "Antica" ("ancient" in the local dialect) is a reference to old school Corsican reds: made from 100% Sciaccarello, this is a gamey, savory, red-fruited beauty, distinctly expressive of its island roots but with a uniquely inviting, lithe freshness.
