6 wines for $25 ($15 for Club Members)
It's nearly impossible to discuss wine without the conversation turning to terroir, a deceptively simple word for a concept that, in practice, can be hard to define. Of the many factors that contribute to the greater idea of terroir, the one that is perhaps most often cited is also the most difficult to understand: soil. The type of soil that makes up a vineyard undoubtedly has a great influence on the wine it produces. But does limestone soil in Chablis have the same effect in Napa? Does Syrah from the Granite-rich hills of the Northern Rhône mirror those from the same soils of Australia's Barossa Valley? The flight of 6 wines will showcase 3 different soil types, with 2 wines for each from entirely different regions. We'll explore how shared soil types produce shared characteristics in wines produced a world apart, as well as the way in with other terroir elements shape the finished wine.
