The Loire Valley is a true winemaker's playground. Known as "the garden of France," this region spans over 600 miles, from the Atlantic coast to the heart of central France, with an exceptionally wide range of climates and soil types. It's one of the most diverse and dynamic winemaking regions in France, with over a dozen primary grape varietals. Ready to find your favorite? Join us for a tasting tour through this iconic region, led by Jessie Ryan of Garber & Co. We'll start with a comparison of Cab Franc in two styles (one bright and fresh, the other earthy and tanic) before moving onto the queen grape of the Loire, Chenin Blanc. We'll also try a delightfully peppery, light-on-its-feet Pineau d’Aunis, which we think is one of the most underrated red grapes in existence. (If you haven't tried Pineau d’Aunis—now's your chance.) And to wrap it all up, we’ll raise a glass of Clos Roussely Crémant de Loire "Favorite," which is what we hope you'll call this region by the end of the night.
