Teran from Slovenia’s Kras region (one of Slovenia’s only wines of “protected origin”) has been prized for centuries for its medicinal properties (post-partum Sloveniennes would drink it to combat anemia.... or that’s what they told their husbands, anyway!). Tart red/black berry notes, some herbs, and nice little saline tang make this a food pairing dreamboat wine.
