Description
I think this is what the kids’d call “Hella Mineral.” Ineffably complex, you’re first greeted with flinty notes, and then all manner of delight rises up through the palate: lemon, mint, rosemary, tart pear, and above all minerality. Structured, elegant, with layer upon layer of liquid stone flavors. (We opened this up for a rising star Californian winemaker the other day, and, gobstoppered, she wondered aloud how California can hope to compete with the Old World with something like this. Short answer? We can’t!)
