Chenin is *the* Californian white grape, not just the one you forgot about. Once the most planted grape in the state (as late as the 90’s it was the most planted grape in Napa!). We think Craig Haarmeyer’s one of the two or three greatest Chenin Whisperers in the state of California. (And we’re not alone!One of the others, Matthew Rorick, gives Craig the crown!) Stone fruit and dusty white minerality, with notes of rich beeswax and spiced honey, this is that rare beast: Californian complexity. A wine I’d take to the Loire to Chenin-battle with.
