Description
The Philippon Family hold a special place in Chablis history. Sibling trio Beatrice, Benoit and Olivier run the show here today but their great-grandfather Julien was the OG. He scooped up land at a great price, as phylloxera had just wreaked havoc across the continent. He was the very first in Chablis to try planting vines on American rootstock, the move that would revitalize the wine world--as a result, the family now tends some some of the oldest vines in Chablis. This is aged entirely in steel and is nervy and bright with a lovely nose filled with spring flowers, apple and peach aromatics. On the palate, a zippy acidity, lots of lemon and great minerality make this captivating Chablis.
