Prà @ Solano Cellars May 8th
The Veneto is much more than gondola rides on the canals of Venice and strolls through Piazza San Marco - it is instead a diverse collection of microclimates, influence by the foothills of the Alps in the north, Lake Garda to the west and the Adriatic Sea to the southeast. And flanked by the Lessini Mountains, nestled along the banks of the Adige River, sits the ancient village of Verona and its surrounding countryside, home to a certain set of star-crossed lovers and the Veneto's most renowned growing regions - Valpolicella and Soave.
.

Established in the 1980s, Prà is a young winery by the standards of the Veneto. But despite that relatively short history, it’s become a benchmark producer of fresh, vivid Soave and elegant Valpolicella - Classico, Ripasso, and of course, Amarone. Celebrating the region's indigenous grape varieties grown in volcanic soils (the latter being a rarity in Northern Italy), Graziano Prà has established himself as a torch-bearer of quality in the Veneto (and his white wines, in particular, are among the best in all of Italy).

.

On Wednesday, we’ll be joined by Diego Corradi from Prà and Abby Vorce of Oliver McCrum to taste through a lineup of these stunning wines, which showcase the full spectrum of what Soave and Valpolicella have to offer.
