The term "Old World" might conjure images of stately Chateaus in Bordeaux or Bodegas in Rioja for most, but travel a bit further east, and you'll find a vinous history that dates back well before the cellars of Burgundy were even a twinkle in some Carthusian monk's eye. Places like Cyprus, Greece, Croatia, and Bosnia have shaped winemaking practices in more well-established western regions while largely remaining unheralded for their own winemaking traditions. Luckily, Importers like Vinum and Athenee are highlighting the best of what these historic regions have to offer... and even luckier for us, our friend Nick Dazzi of Alluvial Wines keeps pouring them for us! We'll have Nick behind the bar with a lineup of our favorite bottles from some of the world's oldest wine regions, both familiar staples and new arrivals that made us weak in the knees.
