Oest Wines @ Solano Cellars June 6th

Tahnee Shields, the one-woman powerhouse behind Oest Wines, is in search of terrwheré - making wines expressive of place while doing the work that gives back to the community and landscape.

Tahnee was drawn to the relationship between food, wine, and their relationship with agriculture from a young age, thanks in large part to the more agrarian lifestyles of her grandparents she witness growing up. Soon after graduating from college, she started working for organic farms and built a deeper understanding of land preservation and stewardship. A chance meeting with local winemaker Brad Artziniega led her to expand her interest in farming from produce to grapes, and in 2019, she and Artziniega launched the first (tiny, two barrel) vintage of Oest Wines.
.
Working under California legend Gideon Beinstock at Clos Saron, Tahnee learned how to craft balanced, “alive wines” that tell the stories of the vineyard she farms in the Sierra Foothills, all from her shared cellar space in Richmond where she works alongside like-minded winemakers (including our friend Dani Rozman of La Onda!).
On Thursday, we’ll have Tahnee behind the bar pouring her newest releases and old favorites, from textured, complex whites to nuanced and savory red blends (even a charming piquette made with a friend’s local honey, and Sierra Foothills' answer to Lambrusco!).

Thursday 6/6 from 5-8pm
