Furmint: to know her is to love her. Best known in the storied Tokaj region of Hungary where it's used in the production of sweet wines, Furmint is also grown in other parts of the country as well as in Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and South Africa. Furmint is highly perceptible to botrytis, "noble-rot," responsible for making the devilishly delicious dessert wines we know and love. Sweet though she is, Furmint is not a one trick pony. High in acidity and redolent of enticing tropical fruits, Furmint makes a killer dry white wine.

On the final day of this short month, join us in celebrating this gorgeous grape and all she has to offer.  We'll be joined by Eric Danch from Danch & Granger Selections, a savant on wines from this region. Come taste through 5 wines from a sparkling, to still, to sweet alongside some traditional Hungarian finger food whipped up by Eric Danch himself.
