Some of the greatest wines in Italy come from the foothills of the Italian Alps. Famously, Piedmonte is known for the superstar wines of Barolo and Barbaresco but there’s a lot more there. We’re going to taste the affordable side of Piedmonte right next to these World Class regions. We’ll have a Barbera, a Dolcetto and from the heart of Piedmonte (Gavi) we’ll taste a mouthwatering white made from 100% Cortese. Then we’ll go to the other side of the Alps (Veneto) and taste some sparkling Garganega (what the region is known for) and last but not least a really classic Valpolicella driven by Corvina, the chief grape of the region, and offers up crushed violet and dried rose, ancho chili, pink peppercorn, all balanced by a gentle nudge of brambly red fruit!
