Croatia might've seen a jump in tourism in recent years (thanks in no small part to Game of Thrones), but the rest of the Balkans are still largely overlooked, both as a vacation destination and source of great wine. The difficult rebuilding post-communist period and regional wars in the 1990s certainly took their toll, but recently, a coalition of small producers have reinvested in their old vineyards and family wineries to restore them to their former glory. Now, countries like Bosnia, Serbia, and yes, Croatia, are increasingly represented on the international wine stage, and offer some of the greatest vinous value anywhere. We're thrilled to have our friends Brian Stapleton of Danch & Granger and Nick Dazzi of Vinum Imports back behind the bar with a lineup of new arrivals from the Balkans.
