Catalonia and The Balearic Islands (an archipelago off the coast of the Iberian Peninsula, famously home to Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza) have a long, shared history dating back to Jaume I of Aragon in the 13th century. And they have more in common than just language; both have a long established culture of fierce independence and pioneering spirit, and that character is widely reflected in the winemakers in each region. Alyssa Papiernik of Farm Imports will join us to pour a lineup of winemakers unwaveringly committed to the traditions, indigenous varieties, and culture of their region, while still never shying away from bold experimentation.
