Agustí Torello Roca is on a quest to reveal the soul of the unique terruño of the Alt Penedès in Catalunya. He founded Anima Mundi in 2015 to display the true expression of grape and place through keen observation of the land. He's the head winemaker for his family's winery AT Roca, which focuses on terroir-driven champagne-method sparkling wines within the D.O. Classic Penedès. Anima Mundi, however, is a dream realized by Agustí outside of appellation designations, focusing on (mostly) still, single-varietal expressions of the region's indigenous varieties. If that wasn't enough? Agustí also runs Sileo, a project in Montsant featuring high elevation Grenache and Carignan that emphasizes freshness and minerality.
These are among our favorite wines from a region that holds an incredibly special place in our hearts. Our friend Alyssa Papiernik from Farm Imports will be behind the bar to pour through the best that AT Roca, Anima Mundi, and Sileo have to offer. Tapas will be available to order a la carte.
