Description
Dolores Cabrera is an absolute breath of fresh air on the island of Tenerife, part of the Canary Islands in southern Spain. She is growing Listan Negro and Listan Blanco as her own project which she has named ‘La Araucaria,’ the name of a local evergreen tree found in the Canaries, and also seen on the label of her wines. Her vines can be found in the vine growing area of La Valle de la Orotava. Coming from two sites on the northern slopes of Tenerife on Mount Teide. The vines are all over 100 years in age and braided in the style of cordon trenzado. The volcanic ash from these slopes comes through with a faintly smoky aroma, lean and precise fruit; and a prickly texture in the wine.
