Portable, chillable and light: who doesn't love a can? As Eric Asimov preaches, “For people who already love wine, even the most narrow-minded should embrace the can, just as they should boxed wines, as a rational container for easy-drinking wines intended to be consumed without aging.”
Wine in a can allows us to drink wine in places we never before dreamed possible. There's the obvious: beach, hike, pool, picnic. But also: Incognito movie wine? Tailgate wine? Just waiting in a really long line? The possibilities are endless.
Some of our best friends and beloved winemakers in the area are canning some of the best wines-that-just-happen-to-be-in-cans… and we're throwing a party to celebrate them! We've invited them to come down and crack cans for us on Friday, July 28! Come by for an evening of easy, breezy good times and the chance to try NINE canned wines.
We'll be joined by Cassidy Miller, pouring her delish zin-apple combo Zapple Juice (plus Cassidy will be pouring Jason Charles' Moonland canned rosé of Carignan full of watermelon, sea salt and strawberry). Ryan Stirm will be sharing his delicious Companion line-up (Chillable Red! Rose! Skin Contact White! Sunny B!) and Emily and Mike will be pouring three awesome cans from Wild Arc in Hudson Valley, New York. These guys put Piquette on the map and are making some very cool wines with hybrid grapes that thrive in the New York climate.
