Baja: Mexican Wines @ Vine St. Friday, May 16th

Vine Street
Friday, May 16th
5-7pm
Silvana Pijoan, second generation winemaker of Vinos Pijoan, farms and makes wines in the Valle de Guadalupe with an organic & regenerative agriculture view. She's been working on soil health—the introduction of native plants that balance the ecosystem, nurturing a habitat that brings beneficial insects and pollinators and focusing on drought resistant vines due to the dry climate. She makes wines of finesse and focus, and works without any use of additives in the winery.
Daniel Kelly is a winemaker in Valle de Guadalupe, originally from Ensenada. Daniel has a degree in Gastronomy and while working in a restaurant belonging to a winery, he began his foray into wine production. He has worked in wineries in Mexico, New Zealand, the United States and Chile, and in 2018 he decided to start his own line of wines. Fractura marks Daniel's beginning as a producer of organic wines made with minimal intervention. His wines are spontaneously fermented, unfiltered, without additives and without added sulfites.
Our friend Lee Madueno of Amy Atwood Selections will be here to guide us through tasting 5 wines (2 rose's and 3 reds) from the Valle de Guadalupe! Come learn about two dynamic winemakers in Baja and the future of winemaking in the region!
