Take a trip with us along the Styrian Wine Road with Ashley from Rock Paper Scissor Wine Imports. She’ll be pouring Pet Nats and still wines from Kobatl and Weingut Engel that are Hybrid, traditional Vitis Vinifera, and PIWI grapes.
PIWI grapes have a high resistance to fungal diseases allowing growers (even in tough climates) to significantly reduce or outright eliminate the use of pesticides. This may be the most environmentally conscious wine tasting of the summer and a unique opportunity to try and learn about Hybrid and PIWI wines.
