Roots Wine Co has been one of our favorite up-and-comers for years now == long enough that maybe we can say they’ve finally Up and Already Arrived. Initially, though, the wines were impossible to get -- production was so minuscule that most of the wine stayed in Oregon. They’ve finally made enough to sell to their loathed neighbors to the south, and we couldn’t be happier. This “Klee” Pinot is a wonderful example of the easy 2017 vintage in Oregon: deep, supple Pinot fruit, with lots of forest-floor spice that tells you are indubitably in the Pacific Northwest. Drink it while it lasts!
