Kopke Port House has been around since the late 1600's and is THE oldest Port House in the world; gotta figure they must be doing something right! They're justly famed for making serious ports that are as consistent as they are complex. After 20 years in wood, this wine develops a delicate orange-green color. Its splendid nose is a complex marriage of dried fruit, spice, and notes of fine wood. On the palate, its flavors are rich and concentrated, with a long and velvety finish. Serve with a slight chill and pair with Manchego (or sub it in for Sauternes with your rillettes / foie gras!).
