2021 Max Kilburg 'Vertigo' Riesling Feinherb Riesling

In a region that seems mostly staid and hidebound, where all the turf's been carved up already and No New Things are on the horizon? Max Kilburg is a bananas-level, bonkers-level breakout star. (It's not just us: the main mag for German wines wrote, "Mosel lovers of refined and playful wines have a new star to put on their radar screen!") While his "serious" stuff is hard to get (and will set you back some dollars) his entry-level "Vertigo" (named for the Mosel's steep slopes, and not for his abiding love of James Stewart and Kim Novak... we think) a killer everynight dry-ish ripper of a Riesling... whether pairing with Thai food or a Hitchcock night on the couch.
