ZouZou: "jovial, dynamic, always fun to be around." If that isn't an entirely apt description of Coteaux des Travers juicy, fresh-fruited Cotes du Rhone of the same name, I don't know what is. Unlike their heftier, more weighted and serious expressions of old vine Grenache (and a sprinkle of Syrah and Mourvedre), ZouZou undergoes carbonic maceration, is aged entirely in concrete, and is bottled early to preserve its naturally fresh fruit. Chock-full of blue fruit and a hit of baking spice on the back end, with just the slightest hint of tannin and a bright acid profile, this more than lives up to its name - fun, full of energy, and always a good time.
