José Lovaglio is one of the most exciting young winemakers in Argentina. The son of the FIRST female winemaker in Argentina (legendary bada$$ Susana Balbo), José followed in his mother's footsteps, attending UC Davis for winemaking, and spent time as a sommelier in Beijing, before returning home to continue the family tradition. He purchased an old creamery and converted it into a small gravity-fed concrete winery, and he now produces some of the cleanest, sharpest minimal intervention wines we’ve seen from the Southern Hemisphere. His blanco is 90% Chardonnay, full of bright crisp green apple and pear, with a splash of Semillon to impart some honeyed texture.
