“Drink good wine, and let there be rock”... this is how Gottfried Lamprecht signs off every episode of his podcast, which covers everything from wine ratings to current events. He started out designing wine labels in college (where he studied horticulture), before restoring his Buchertberg Hill to organic farming and planting a 22-acre vineyard, which he now farms in accordance with his own Charta (following the regulations of other bodies would be too conformist for this trailblazer). His Pinot Blanc is named after the ideal soil conditions in which it’s grown — calcareous (kalk) and sandstone, which imparts a textural sensation of sandy soils and lively aromatics.
