Welcome to Cheverny, a tiny little-known appellation in Eastern Loire where all sorts of grapes are planted. Cazin’s rouge has Gamay, Pinot Noir with a tiny bit of Cot (aka Malbec). It is piping with Loire acidity while also being fresh and textured at the same time. The fruit really comes out on the nose but the herbaceousness on the palate really makes this one shine. Get some Duck breast, crisp up the skin real nice and crack a bottle of this Loire delight—then tell me you’re not having a great night!
