2020 Domaine Chevallier-Bernard Roussette de Savoie Altesse
Mont de la Charvaz is widely considered by cyclists to be among the most challenging climbs in the world. I imagine that these intrepid athletes have one primary motivation as they make their grueling ascent: reach the top and be rewarded with a glass of this distinctly alpine elixir sourced from those same slopes. Made by Chantal and Jean-Pierre Bernard, who took over the Chevallier property in 1996, this is Altesse at its freshest: lively white floral aromatics, fine minerality, verdant herbs, and honeyed melon. And although you *probably* shouldn’t fill your water bottle with this pure, unadulterated mountain juice on your next ride, you should absolutely pour it generously anytime you’re in need of serious refreshment.
