Description
Deep in northern Bavaria resides a madman. No, not Werner Herzog. And not Klaus Kinski either. No I’m referring to natural winemaker Stefan Vetter, who makes some of the most gorgeous old-vine Silvaner in the world. Imagine our delight, then, upon discovering what he calls his “Apfelperlwein” (the best way to say cider ever, btw) made from all Franconian apple varieties such as Goldrenette, Blenheim, Winterrambur, Goldparmäne, and Bohnapfel! Dark copper in the glass; hay, chestnuts, hazelnuts and white flowers? In a cider? Hot damn. Perfect for adventurous lovers of hyper-elegant dry ciders.
