Ian Brand cut his teeth in the Central Coast as a farmer, winemaker and all around grape whisperer. When he found Melon de Bourgogne growing in the rocky heart of the region, he had to give a shot at this rare CA beast (one of only a few plantings in the state)! The wine is wonderfully reductive, balancing salty seashell notes alongside generous stone fruit and brilliant acid. Maybe a touch richer than our favorite Muscadet's (Pepiere!), but is pitch perfect with a bucket of oysters on the beach. And happily clocks in at a mellow 11.2% ABV. Yum.
