Alert the elders! Mickaël Bourg is an up and coming producer making old-school Cornas from small, old vine parcels. His grandfather was a mason in Cornas, and Mickaël decided to go into wine after two years of working as a mechanic. After working with Matthieu Barret, he made his first wine in 2006. Minimal intervention in the vineyard and the cellar, whole cluster fermentation and entirely unfined and unfiltered, only a few barrels produced. This is a wild wine with elegant Cornas vibes: Savory grit meets floral elegance. Peppered dark fruits and iron-tinged smoked meat meld with violets, wild sage and brushy herbs. This wine is complex and alive... and it’s calling your name.
