Who says you can't find bargains in Burgundy anymore? Look off the beaten path, and you'll run right into Antoine Lienhardt and his biodynamic parcels in the Côte de Nuits-Villages. His entry-level (in name only!) Bourgogne Rouge is fresh and lively, striking a delicate balance between densely concentrated dark fruit, finessed and energetic freshness, and an aromatic, verdant earthiness from a bit of stem inclusion. Nothing is out of place on the balanced palate, weighty and refined in a way that vastly outperforms its price point. This is serious stuff to drive Burg-heads wild - all on a Tuesday night budget.
