According to The Terroirist Wine Journal, Thomas Rivers Brown "is the nation's hottest winemaker." Did the issue come with a centerfold? We're not sure. We *think*, however, that they’re referring to his multiple 100-point wine scores from Parker, to say nothing of the effusive praise from Laube, et many al. While we’re not the type to blanket things we love in cold hard numbers, we certainly get the hype in this case: this is a stone-cold stunner of a Napa Cab. Framed by ripe tannins and bold, dark-cored black fruit, there are notes of black raspberry coulis, rich tobacco leaf, and black licoricey earth, too. An exceptional wine, built for a decade's cellaring, easy (decant, if serving now!) A hard-to-get wine worth grabbing while we have it.
