There may be some confusion about this wine based on the label (Ravan?? Green Sauvignon??), but believe me, there is no doubting the deliciousness inside this bottle. Once referred to as Tocai until the Hungarians didn’t want people confusing it with their noble late harvest Tokaji, Kabaj winemaker Jean-Michel Morel now refers to the grape as Ravan. This is incredibly refined aromatically, brimming with white flowers, orange blossoms and spice -- floral, but not perfume-y like some aromatic whites. Totally dry, with layers of texture (thanks to 24 months on its lees) and an underlying smoky depth.
