This is the wine that was the genesis of Stereophonic. The Lefler family is predisposed to love Aglianico (they have relatives with a winery in Campania's famed Taurasi region, the grape's apotheosis on earth!) - so it's perhaps no surprise that Jason leapt at the chance to work with fruit from the nation's first plantings of Aglianico, the Kirk Landry Vineyard in Paso Robles. Densely fruited and still ringed by a chainmail of chunky tannins, the Aglianico shows a red, spicy core of fruit in the midst of all that dark color and intensity. Decant if serving now, or cellar for a decade, easy!
